Barbara is a 33-year veteran of the investment industry in Baltimore and an integral part of our team. The early part of Barbara’s career was focused on Equity Research, providing analytical research expertise in industrials and telecommunications for several venerable Baltimore financial institutions, including the Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland, Mercantile-Safe Deposit and Trust, and the Adams Express Company. She then joined Allied Investment Advisors (the predecessor firm to Wilmington Trust Advisors), as a Vice President/Senior Portfolio Manager, and was responsible for co-managing the flagship $500 million Value Equity mutual fund and co-managing several other funds, including Equity Income and Multi-Cap Growth. Before joining Tufton, Barbara was a financial advisor to high net worth clients at Citi Smith Barney and Merrill Lynch. Barbara holds an MBA with honors from the University of Baltimore where she also received her BS in Finance. She is a member of the Investment Committee for the Maryland Historical Society and is a volunteer for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). She is also a member of the CFA Institute and the Baltimore CFA Society. Barbara was named to the Who’s Who in American Colleges in 1981 and was named one of Baltimore Magazine’s Top Wealth Managers for the past 6 years.
